Summer Interns for Adult Psychiatry Inpatient Care in Östersund

For the summer of 2026, we are looking for curious and engaged summer interns for adult psychiatry's inpatient care in Östersund. You will work closely with patients, providing basic care, observations, and documentation. You will meet patients with varying diagnoses, conditions, and needs, making the work diverse and developing.

The psychiatry area includes both outpatient and inpatient care, assisting patients in Jämtland County in need of specialist psychiatry. The area has approximately 270 employees. Within the psychiatric clinic in Östersund, all specialist care is under one roof, allowing for close collaboration within and between professions and internal mobility, offering personal development opportunities for you as an employee.

Our psychiatric wards are distributed as follows:

• Psychiatric emergency ward 1b focusing on acute psychiatry and two beds for child and adolescent psychiatry
• Psychiatric ward 4a primarily focuses on psychoses and eating disorder care.
• Psychiatric ward 4b primarily focuses on affective and geriatric conditions.

We are looking for you who are a qualified nurse or nursing assistant, or a student as follows:

• Nursing student
• Medical student
• Psychology student
• Social work student

To ensure you enjoy your summer job, you will be offered an introduction, internal training, and continuous supervision.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As a nurse in inpatient care, you will lead and distribute nursing work and coordinate and prioritize efforts for the patient in their care situation.

As a nursing assistant in inpatient care, you work closest to the patient and provide the support the patient needs in their daily life, personal care, and social contacts.

As an employee with ongoing healthcare education, you will participate in daily care work and have the opportunity to contribute knowledge and skills you have gained from your education.

We work for good relationships with each other, patients, relatives, and care neighbors. With us, you will work alongside other professional categories such as doctors, social workers, and psychologists.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Licensed nurse
• Trained nursing assistant

Experience working in psychiatry is meritorious. It is also advantageous if you can work at least eight consecutive weeks during our summer period, which runs from week 24 to week 35.

We want you to have a genuine interest in psychiatric care work and focus on the patient. You have a respectful attitude towards patients, their relatives, and colleagues. You do not need to be fully trained, but you want to develop and learn. You are a positive person who enjoys collaborating with different staff categories.
